Jan Harada
President & Chief Executive Officer

Jan Harada, President & Chief Executive Officer, is responsible for the overall direction & administration of Helping Hands Hawaii.  Ms. Harada is a graduate of Punahou School, has her B.S. in Psychology and a minor in History from the University of Oregon, her J.D. from the University of Oregon School of Law / Knight Law School, and has been a member of the Hawaii State Bar since November 2000 (inactive status).  She comes to Helping Hands Hawaii from 5 years with the Hawaii Department of Health (2 years with their Child & Adolescent Mental Health Division, and 3 years with their Disease Outbreak Control Division, Bioterrorism Preparedness & Response Branch), and 4 years with the community-based non-profit organization Palama Settlement (3 yrs. as their Executive Director).

She is a 2008 Pacific Century Fellow, and a 2008 Weinberg Fellow. In addition to her work with Helping Hands Hawaii, she also serves on the Boards of 3 other non-profit organizations that focus on education for at-risk / low-income children, community service and helping those in need, and preservation of the coastal resources at Hanauma Bay, respectively.

To add your Helping Hands to the community . . .

Donations will benefit our agency's various programs to serve the community. Between July 1 - July 31, 2010, all donations will go to benefit the Central Pacific Bank Ready to Learn school supply program.
