Susan Furuta

Vice President, Human Resources Susan Furuta joined Helping Hands Hawaii in 2001 to oversee Human Resources and develop strategic, organizational improvements in labor related areas.  Susan has over 14 years of Human Resource Management experience, primarily in the hospitality, major retail and (over the last 7 years) not-for-profit human services industries. In 2004, Helping Hands Hawaii received the Hawaii Psychological Association’s “Psychologically Healthy Workplace” award in the non-profit category.  Susan is also the Safety Officer and Privacy Officer of the Agency.

Susan earned her Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Hawaii in Human Development.  She is a national and local chapter member of the Society for Human Resource Management and serves on the Retired and Senior Volunteer Program Advisory Council.
