Vance Milcetich-Tano

“Helping Hands Hawai‘i provides me with the opportunity to work with individuals and families in communities in need and to make a difference in their lives, especially for the elderly and houseless.  As part of the SNAP Outreach program, I get to ‘FEED THE WORLD’ everyday to help with society’s food insecurity.”
 
Vance is the SNAP Outreach Program Coordinator who is responsible for assisting clients with applying for and recertifying their SNAP benefits. His duties include maintaining intake procedures and protocols, data tracking, and program operations, including providing training and supervision within the SNAP team, volunteers and interns. Vance also coordinates and participates in outreaches, community events, and presentations for the promotion and education of SNAP.
 
Vance is a graduate of Moanalua High School and the University of Hawaii at Manoa, where he received a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology and Master of Social Work with a concentration in gerontology. He also studied music and was a drum major for the U.H. marching band.
 
Fun Fact: Vance loves Broadway musicals, and his favorite is “Miss Saigon.” His favorite movies are “With Honors,” “Serendipity,” “The Wedding Planner,” and “Mamma Mia.” His favorite city is San Francisco, and he loves traveling, dogs, and Christmas. His hobbies include collecting gnomes and watching YouTube. He believes in peace, love, kindness, and happiness!
